Dr. Angela Anderson is the #1 Amazon international best-selling author of Now What?! Get OVER Yourself and MOVE! Dr. Anderson is a leadership and organizational expert. Her mission is to guide individuals and organizations on the journey to maximizing their full potential through solution-focused actions and a positive mindset. In her current role, she serves as the U.S. Head of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Strategy and Operations for Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation. Dr. Anderson leads the alignment of culture and strategic priorities through the organization and serves as project lead for all U.S. DE&I operational aspects. Since joining Novartis, Dr. Anderson has utilized her expertise to spearhead several impactful internal initiatives including the Multicultural Engagement Program, the annual Day of Reflection and Beacon of Hope.
In 2021, Dr. Anderson was awarded the PhRMA We Work for Health Champion Award. She currently represents Novartis on the PhRMA DEI Board. Dr. Anderson is a valued thought leader. She has worked to further the company’s external DEI impact by speaking at multiple conferences including the Executive Leadership Council’s Mid-Level Managers Summit, South by Southwest, Biotech Week Boston, and Seamount’s Multicultural Women and Work Beyond Summits.
Additionally, Dr. Anderson is internationally certified by the John C. Maxwell Team as an executive advisor, expert speaker, and trainer. This group specializes in providing training around the world on topics such as leadership, influence, motivation, team dynamics, and much more. Dr. Anderson trains groups within the business, educational, non-profit, and healthcare fields. The goal is to empower others to improve, increase productivity, and operate at maximum potential.
Before becoming a partner of the John C. Maxwell Team, Dr. Anderson spent years gaining experience in multiple fields by working with businesses and educational institutions. It was through these experiences that Dr. Anderson honed her skills as a speaker, trainer, and executive advisor. Dr. Anderson began as a therapist in the mental health field, ultimately serving as Director of Clinical Services.
An unexpected opportunity led to Dr. Anderson’s current passion when she took an opportunity at Verizon. During her tenure, she was honored with the President’s Award of Excellence, the Star Promoter Award, and a personal commendation from the company CEO for her performance.
She served as the keynote speaker for an event sponsored by Caesars Entertainment Corp. and spoke at the conference Speak and Write to Make Millions 2017 with international best-selling author and motivational speaker Lisa Nichols. Dr. Anderson’s message was heard by an audience of over 1,000 attendees and via live stream in 42 countries worldwide.
In 2019, Dr. Anderson, in partnership with tech executive Candace Morgan, launched a podcast entitled Just Be Real Sis. This podcast was established to have real conversations on issues that have historically been difficult to discuss. The goal is to build bridges between different points of view and create a platform rooted in collaboration over competition.
Dr. Anderson has been called on by multiple companies to share her expertise in diversity, equity and inclusion, critical communication, motivation, stress management, and mental wealth. She has worked with Verizon, FedEx, United Way, Ericsson, Lee Hecht Harrison, and The United States Department of Defense.
Dr. Anderson partnered with Global Health Psychiatry to deliver a virtual keynote and virtual support sessions on emotional intelligence, stress, and emotional resilience for the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office. Ericsson secured Dr. Anderson to conduct a global webcast in collaboration with their global CEO and global leaders. The webcast was viewed by thousands of employees in over 30 countries. Dr. Anderson graduated from Dillard University in New Orleans, LA with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology. She received a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, IA. Dr. Anderson completed her doctoral work in Management and Organizational Leadership from the University of Phoenix in Phoenix, AZ.
In addition, Dr. Anderson remains involved in numerous organizations. She is a member of the National Association of Professional Women, Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association, Women of Color in Pharma, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., a national public service organization of college-educated women.
